The history of mulling wine dates all the way back almost 2000 years ago. Traditionally made during cold, winter nights, warm mulled wine (or cider) fights off the chill of the season.

For mulled beverages, add spice bag to one gallon cider or one bottle of red wine. Add 1/2 cup brown sugar (if desired). Bring to a soft boil, reduce heat, simmer for 20-30 minutes, or place all ingredients in a crock pot and let steep for 4 hours before reducing heat to warm. Spice bag can be reused up to 3 times; simply freeze between uses.

Note: Mulling spice in muslin bag is only available in the 1 ounce size. All other loose size options don't come with a muslin bag.

Ingredients: Allspice, cinnamon, star anise, orange zest and clove.
