This brine is the first step in transforming a brisket into memorable corned beef! Start your brisket in a bath of water, salt, sugar, and spices before slow cooking to perfection. Follow this easy recipe for a delicious homemade corned beef for any occasion.

Note: Corned Beef Brine Spices are sold in 1.75 ounce bags.

After brining, complete the recipe by seasoning the beef with our Corned Beef Spice Rub, and slow cooking with cabbage, potatoes, and carrots.

Brined Corned Beef

  1. Heat 4 cups of water, add 1 cup of kosher salt and one cup of light brown sugar. Stir to dissolve, and add contents of spice packet.

  2. Let cool completely and add one can of stout or 2 cups of water to the mix. Poke meat all over with a sharp knife.

  3. Cover meat with brine and let flavors combine at least one but up to five days.

Ingredients: yellow mustard, black pepper, allspice, bay leaf, coriander, thyme, cinnamon, marjoram, pink peppercorn.
